Setting up the campus

What a new campus starts with

The data Edunara creates by itself on a fresh installation — and what the admin still has to set up.

A new Edunara installation is not empty. It already contains the national reference data and sensible starting rules, so the admin doesn’t create them by hand. Everything here can be reviewed and changed by the admin; the system only fills what is missing and never overwrites your changes.

Ready on day one

The first admin account

On a fresh installation Edunara creates one admin account with the username admin and a one-time random password, shown once in the server log when the system starts for the first time. Log in and change it straight away, then create named accounts for your staff.

Roles and access rights

The built-in roles — Admin, Head of Faculty, Head of Program, Lecturer, Student — with a sensible set of access rights for each. Admins can add custom roles and adjust access rights later (see Roles).

Degree levels and national rules

Setup › Degree Level Defaults holds the rules per degree level, based on the national regulations:

Credit limits per semester

How many credits a student may take each semester, by their result in the previous semester (IPS):

RuleMax credits
First year (semesters 1–2)20
IPS 3.00 and above24
IPS 2.50 – 2.9922
IPS 2.00 – 2.4920
IPS 1.50 – 1.9918
Below IPS 1.5016

The first-year limit comes from the national regulation; the IPS ladder is the common Indonesian practice and is meant to be adjusted to your campus policy.

Academic settings

Setup › Academic Settings starts with common values, for example: minimum attendance 80%, 14 weeks per semester, 50 minutes of class per credit, 2–24 credits per regular semester and up to 9 in the Compact semester, 144 credits and GPA 2.00 to graduate, 80 credits before starting a thesis, at most 10 semesters of study, and the best grade counting when a course is retaken. Review them before the first semester.

Reference lists

  • Degree titles — the standard Indonesian degree titles for each level (D1 to S3).
  • Accreditation ranks — Unggul, Baik Sekali, Baik, A, B, C and Unaccredited, to tag faculties and study programs.
  • Default rubrics — performance levels (excellent → unsatisfactory) and ready-made criteria for quizzes, assignments, mid and final exams and projects, which lecturers can use or adapt.
  • Payment methods — bank transfer (switched on), virtual account and online payment gateway (switched off until the campus connects them).
  • National activity types — internship, village building, teaching assistance, student exchange, research, entrepreneurship, independent study, humanitarian project, national defence, thesis, final project, practical work and community service, used by activity programs and the PDDikti report.

What the admin sets up

Nothing about your campus exists yet. Before the first semester the admin creates, in this order:

  1. Faculties, study programs and specializations
  2. Buildings, rooms and time slots
  3. The academic calendar and term dates
  4. Academic settings (review the starting values above)
  5. Tuition fees, billing groups and payment methods
  6. Lecturers, heads of faculty and heads of program
  7. Courses with their syllabus
  8. Course packages and the courses offered each term
  9. Admission periods and the enrollment window

Each step has its own page in Setting up the campus, starting with 1. Faculties and study programs.

Demo and test environments

Development and QA environments are also filled with sample data — example faculties, study programs, courses, rooms, lecturers and students, plus test accounts — so features can be tried without setting up a campus. None of this exists on a real installation.
