A student who misses a mid or final exam for a valid reason (illness, a family emergency, an official campus duty) can ask for a make-up exam (ujian susulan).
The flow

- Student requests it from the exam in their class — the reason and, optionally, evidence such as a doctor’s letter.
- Head of Program decides in Approvals:
- Approve — optionally setting the date and time, on campus or online, and the room right away; or leave the time open for the admin.
- Reject — with a reason.
- Admin schedules approved make-ups that have no time yet on Semester › Make-up Exams — one date, time and room can be given to many students at once.
- The student sits the exam. When the make-up time comes they can submit even though the original exam is closed. The lecturer scores it like any other submission; the gradebook marks it as a make-up.
Rules
- Mid and final exams only, and only before the exam has been scored.
- One open request per exam.
- Request deadline — a request is only accepted until the end of the Nth day after the exam (3 days by default; set in Academic rules, 0 = no deadline).
- Score cap — the campus can cap make-up scores (for example at 80); 0 means no cap.
When something goes wrong
| Problem | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The request isn’t accepted | Past the request deadline (3 days after the exam by default), the exam was already scored, it isn’t a mid or final exam, or a request is already open | Talk to the Head of Program; the deadline is set in Academic Settings |
| Approved, but no time yet | The Head of Program left the time to the admin | The admin schedules it on Semester › Make-up Exams |
| The make-up score was lowered | The campus caps make-up scores | Expected — the cap is set in Academic Settings (0 = no cap) |
