15. Retakes

The two ways to retake a failed course — the Compact semester or with the juniors — and which grade counts.

A course is failed when its transcript score is below the course’s minimum passing grade. There are two ways to take it again.

Route A — the Compact semester

The Compact semester (semester antara) is a short, intensive term between two regular semesters.

  1. The admin sets it up like any term: calendar (with one exam period), course packages that open the courses, and an enrollment window for the Compact term.
  2. Compact offerings are retake-only by default — only students who failed the course see and can take it. (The admin can turn this off per offering.)
  3. Every student enrolls through a KRS, never a package, within the Compact credit limit (9 by default).
  4. The admin generates the classes and schedules them on Semester › Compact Semester (auto-schedule or set the day, time slot and room by hand).
  5. Classes, exams, grading and closing then work as in a regular term.

Route B — with the juniors

The student retakes the course in a regular term, in the same classes as the cohort below them.

  • KRS students pick it in their KRS — failed courses running this term are listed.
  • Package students add it in the courses to retake panel under their package before paying; the bill updates.

There is no time limit other than the maximum study period.

Which grade counts

After the retake is graded and the semester closed, the retake grade rule decides which attempt counts toward the IPK — highest, latest, or capped at a chosen grade (Closing the semester). Both attempts stay on the transcript.
